SeePoint Technology Rolls Out VantagePoint Print Kiosk
Torrance / CA Tuesday, November 20, 2001 Torrance, California – The VantagePoint Print kiosk is now available from SeePoint Technology, the Torrance, California-based designer and manufacturer of fully integrated, touch screen kiosk solutions. The VantagePoint Print kiosk, which is less than 17.5 inches deep, is a sleek and elegant yet durable kiosk system ideal for applications in public settings such as retail stores, entertainment venues and college campuses where users want to print receipts, coupons, rebate certificates, tickets, maps or directions.
The VantagePoint Print is an Internet-ready touch screen kiosk system with a fully integrated processing unit and power management as well as no exposed cables, ports or switches. It offers all the functionality and features of a much larger and unwieldy kiosk but in a revolutionary space saving design.
The VantagePoint Print stand, including the cabinet which houses the printer, is constructed from vandal resistant steel and may be powder coated in an array of colors to give the kiosk a unique or brand-reinforcing appearance or to compliment the décor of the installation site. Additionally, an acrylic overlay may be mounted to the front of the cabinet so signage may be prominently displayed on the kiosk system. In addition to the kiosk’s durable printer cabinet construction, it also features a chassis alarm, which detects unauthorized openings of the cabinet. The VantagePoint Print cabinet’s two key locks provide additional security but also make authorized access to reload paper simple and easy.
The thermal printer integrated into the VantagePoint Print features ultra high print speeds of 180mm per second, which decreases user wait time. The printer can print on paper in three widths (52, 72 and 80mm) and is able to print logos and bar codes. The printer is equipped with an automatic cutter capable of full and partial cuts and is guaranteed for one million cuts. Additionally, the printer features paper sensors, which recognize when a roll of paper is near the end and out as well as easy drop in paper loading. Thermal printing capabilities eliminate the inconvenience and cost of ink refills.
A host of peripheral devices may also be fully and securely integrated into the VantagePoint Print kiosk. Optional devices for the VantagePoint Print include bar code scanners, stereo speakers, magnetic swipe readers, tamper and moisture resistant keyboards, web-enabled cameras and wireless Internet.
