NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Organ Donor Networks Use SeePoint Kiosks to Increase Registration and Awareness

Redondo Beach, California – Tuesday, September 28, 2004 – Organ and tissue donor networks, the non-profit organ procurement organizations which work with hospitals to facilitate organ transplants, are deploying computer kiosks throughout the country. The kiosks, which are manufactured by SeePoint Technology, allow the public to sign up to be organ donors and raise awareness about organ donation.

The kiosks have been embraced by both government and private enterprise alike. Government leaders are setting an example by using the kiosks to sign up as donors and issuing challenges to their citizens and employees to help save lives through organ donation. These kiosks are located in a myriad of locations from universities to libraries and civic offices as well as automobile dealerships and shopping malls.

The kiosks increase the number of registrations while simultaneously lowering the cost to sign up new donors. By providing self-service registration at many locations and during a wide variety of hours, the kiosks greatly increase the opportunities to sign up and do not require special events or staffing to facilitate the registrations. Overhead signage on the kiosk systems is also helping to raise awareness by providing a constant reminder of the need for organ donation and the life-saving transplants that donation provides.

The kiosk systems generate a lot of enthusiasm and motivate increased sign ups. For example, employees in some of the host locations have lobbied co-workers and supervisors as well as sent out company-wide emails and submitted articles for company newsletters regarding the opportunity to register at the kiosks.

Product and price have motivated the deployments of SeePoint kiosks. The kiosks are also extremely durable, which is critical for the installations. The kiosks incorporate SeePoint’s patented Vandal Resistant enclosure, which is made from cast aluminum and is designed for especially demanding installations. The processing and display systems as well as power management are fully integrated within the kiosk, making for a streamlined and secure solution. The durability of the kiosks is further enhanced by the absence of accessible switches, ports and cables on the systems.
