NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BusinessWeek Magazine Article Features SeePoint Products at CBS’ Television City Research Center

New York, NY – Monday, October 11, 2004 – BusinessWeek magazine recently published its 75th anniversary issue, titled “The Innovation Economy.” Among the topics reviewed by the magazine is how television is changing to survive the Internet and specifically what the Big Three broadcasters are doing to respond. Featured on the first page of the article are touch screen kiosks, manufactured by SeePoint Technology, installed by CBS as part of its Television City Research Center.

In this special report, the magazine looked at the technologies and new ideas that are changing the world. BusinessWeek cited CBS’ revolutionary Television City Research Center as an example. “To better understand what consumers will want in this new age, TV honchos are intensifying their research. Three years ago, CBS built its Television City Research Center, a 5,000-square-foot facility in the MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas. The move made perfect sense, say CBS execs, since the 36 million visitors a year to the gambling mecca, from high rollers to sunburned families from Arkansas, offer up the ideal test audience.” CBS opened the large, state-of-the-art facility to tap this audience to render opinions on new shows and other trends affecting the industry.

Television City features several screening rooms, with large screen plasma displays and seventy-five countertop-mounted interactive touch screen computer terminals designed and manufactured by SeePoint Technology of Redondo Beach, California. Visitors view newly proposed or existing programming from the plasma displays and react to the content from the individual terminals by responding to survey questions. Each SeePoint terminal is linked to the Internet, allowing CBS executives to track viewer responses from remote locations and revise questions on a real-time basis.
