National Cinema Company Expands Deployment of TicketPoint Ticketing Kiosks

Safat, Kuwait – Saturday, September 18, 2004 – The Kuwait National Cinema Company (KNCC), one of the largest theatrical exhibition companies in the Middle East, is expanding its self-service ticketing kiosk implementation. KNCC operates more than 20 theatre locations with 30,000 seats and has been using SeePoint’s TicketPoint BOCA (sub ATM) self-service ticketing kiosk as part of its operations for more than a year. KNCC has ordered 20 additional TicketPoint systems for its theatres.

TicketPoint is a completely automated and secure self-service ticketing system that provides users with hassle-free, high speed ticketing services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The TicketPoint interactive kiosk allows customers to purchase and print new tickets or print tickets previously purchased online or by phone almost instantaneously. TicketPoint provides unmatched speed and convenience by allowing customers to bypass long box office or will call lines and also reduces staffing costs at the venue. To activate the system, just touch the screen and follow the prompts. A customer simply swipes a credit card, which is securely integrated into the TicketPoint system, to buy tickets or recall preexisting order information. TicketPoint then prints and dispenses fanfold tickets.

TicketPoint is an ideal ticketing solution for festivals and events, movie theatres, museums and performing arts centers, music venues, ski resorts, stadiums and convention centers, theme and amusement parks, transportation, zoos, aquariums, planetariums and auto races. Additionally, the system may be used to market and sell tickets for future events.

The TicketPoint system offers all the functionality and security of heavy, unwieldy cabinet kiosks in a revolutionary, slim profile. The TicketPoint weighs just over 100 pounds, requires less than 2.5 square feet of floor space and is only 17.5 inches deep. This small footprint creates nearly limitless installation options and provides portability that is not available in other products. TicketPoint may be securely fixed in one location or moved around a venue for special events. The system may also be purchased with an ATA approved transit case for use at mobile events such as festivals, fairs and circuses. Digital or static overhead signage may be added to the system to promote sales or events, draw attention to the system or provide instructions for use. Center signage and silk screening are also available to further brand the kiosk.

TicketPoint is easy and inexpensive to install and maintain. TicketPoint does not require professional installation. Simply plug the kiosk in to a standard electrical outlet and hook up the network cord to create an instant self-service ticketing solution. A “low” ticket sensor indicates when stored tickets need to be replenished so ticket outages can be anticipated before they happen. A UPS back up power supply can be added to TicketPoint to ensure that transactions are completely processed despite any interruptions in power. The modular design of the TicketPoint makes it easy to restock tickets, maintain and service the systems. Authorized personnel may quickly and effortlessly replenish ticket stock by opening the TicketPoint’s key lock cabinet.

A variety of peripheral devices including bar code readers, stereo speakers, phone handsets and wireless Internet connectivity may also be seamlessly integrated with the system.

The TicketPoint uses an Intel-based architecture that runs with Windows or Linux operating systems and provides Friendly Ghost Language (FGL) and PCL4 support. The system can work with an existing ticketing application or SeePoint can provide ticketing software for a complete solution.

TicketPoint also supports many ticket printer options with direct thermal printing including the Practical Automation ITX and GTX Series and the Boca Systems Sub ATM printer. Additionally, because SeePoint is a specialty systems integrator, the system can incorporate other ticket printers>
